Before heading to the airport in Port Elizabeth, we filled our rental car with petrol (gas). Here are the questions for you to answer:
1. How many gallons of gas was this fill up?
2. What was the cost in dollars per gallon?
3. What was the total cost in dollars?
Here's the picture of the pump:
Double-click on the picture to enlarge it, if you need. Our information is on the left.
The rest of the information you need is:
1. There are 3.8 liters in a gallon
2. We figured an exchange rate of 6.5 Rand to the dollar
1 comment:
$3.96 a gallon.
$14.2 for the fill up
3.578 gallons of gas
Love the math. I'm still reeling from 6,960,000,000 kernels of corn left in your grandad's field. How much ethanol would that make and what would be the cost per gallon (without government subsidies)?
Love,
Uncle/Cousin/Brother David
